Four New Omaha Games Launched by PokerStars

Four New Omaha Games Added at PokerStars

The largest online poker site in the world PokerStars just keeps getting bigger, and that's not just it's players base. Stars are launching four brand new Omaha games and they are the first to be added by Stars since Badugi was introduced way back in October of 2008. They'll be available as both play money and real money and right across both shared liquidity and segregated sites meaning that everyone gets to play them. The games are 5 Card Omaha, 5 Card Omaha Hi/Lo, Courchevel and Courchevel Hi/Lo and they'll become available over the next few days. Johnny Lodden a 5 Card Omaha specialist and PokerStars Pro said that, "Hopefully these games will be a great success and more people around the world will find them fascinating." PokerStars also mentioned that all variations of Omaha are experiencing a steady rise in popularity and these new offerings hope to build on that. Five Card Omaha and Five Card Omaha Hi/Lo differ from regular Omaha in that 5 cards are dealt as hole cards instead of the usual 4. Players must still however use exactly two from these 5 hole cards and three from the board to complete a hand. Courchevel differs from all Omaha games in the initial stages in that all players are dealt 5 cards but then the first card of the flop is also dealt face up before betting in the first round begins. After this the game returns to regular 5 Card Omaha with each player having to use exactly 2 of their hole cards to make the best hand possible. You will see the games available at 6 max tables and stakes of Pot Limit $0.10/$0.25 up to $200/$400 and Fixed Limit 5 card and Courchevel at $1/$2 all the way up to $1,000/$2,000.
