It was only a matter of time that the $10 million guaranteed mark would be reached, and there could of course be only one Online Poker room that could possibly offer it...PokerStars. The schedule for the 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure was released recently and the big news was that the main event, for the first time ever, will be a monstrous $10,000,000 guaranteed tournament.

The PCA will run in January 2014 and be held at the wonderful Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, a suitable setting for such a large event, and of course of all 39 events being held, the main event has taken the headlines. David Carrion of PokerStars and Director of Live Operations said that, "This is the first time we’ve put a guarantee on the Main Event, and we’re hoping the $10 million purse will help smash last year’s field of 987 players." With that sort of money on the line, there is every chance that that number will be beat, and then some. There is of course more to the PCA than the monster Main Event, and with regards to that Mr Carrion added, "But it wasn’t just about the Main Event in 2013 — the festival generated more than 6,000 total entries and more than $28 million in prize pools across all events, with over 200 runners in the $25,000 High Roller. With even more ways to win a PCA package this year in online and live qualifiers, we’re predicting the 2014 PCA to be one of the biggest and most accessible ever."

The festival of poker will commence on January 5th and first up will be the $100,000 high roller event with the big one starting on January 7th. PokerStars will of course be offering the full schedule of satellites and qualifiers which will provide those players who don’t fancy the $10,300 buy in a cheaper alternative of playing in the first $10 million guaranteed tournament.
