888 Poker to be Main Sponsors of WSOP

The 46th World Series of Poker will be taking place at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas between May 27th and July 14th, with of course the November Nine returning later in the year to complete the Main Event, and it was announced this week that the main sponsor of the poker worlds biggest event will be 888 Poker. They’ve also bagged sponsorship of the 2015 WSOP Europe too and will be providing plenty of qualifiers to the events, as well as plenty of WSOP themed promotions.

This will of course be handing massive coverage to the online poker room as it continues its push into the US online poker market. 888 provide the software for wsop.com real money online poker, which is owned by Caesar’s Interactive and operates in regulated markets such as New Jersey and Nevada where players will be given the chance to qualify for the Las Vegas poker extravaganza, and WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart is clearly happy with the deal, stating that, “888 Poker has been a great partner to CIE for many years now, but 2015 is the year they go all in against the WSOP. We’re proud of the comprehensive poker offering 888 Poker will have for any player outside of the US who dreams to play in our flagship events.”

It’s a virtual love in as Itai Panzer of 888 adds that, “As a true partner with the WSOP on the B2B side where we power their real money games in the US this was a logical next step for us to carry the power of the WSOP to our players across all other major markets we serve”. This is in fact a very big deal for 888 and due to their relationship with Caesars was perhaps always on the cards, and it gives them huge TV and media exposure throughout the event and beyond.

US online poker players outside of regulated markets who wish to qualify online for the WSOP still of course can with the best US poker rooms such as BetOnline and Full Flush Poker both offering online paths to the big one in Vegas.
