Gevork Kasabyan Win WSOP Circuit Main Event at The Bike

Los Angeles player Gevork Kasabyan took home over $200,000 when he won the WSOP Circuit Main Event at the Bicycle Casino in his hometown. He also of course won a seat in the National Championships and the WSOP Gold Ring in what was a gruelling final session. Just the 14 players made it through to day 3 with Kasabyan sitting nicely in 5th place at the start of play, however in what was a bit of a rollercoaster ride, when the final table was set he was down in 8th place out of the 10 players still involved.

It was however an extremely tight table and with one giant hand he tripled up his stack and moved into the lead. It was the 61st hand of final table play and Gevork was all in with 2 pair which saw off the Q's of Marty Cohen and once he'd scooped up that massive stack of chips he didn't look back.

Going into heads up play against Adam Weinraub it was Kasabyan who had the big chip lead, however after a few large pots Weinraub had clawed his way back into contention, but just when it looked like there could be an upset on the cards, Gevork Kasabyan took the next all in pot, the $205,720 and the Gold Ring. This was a large WSOP Circuit event with a prize pool that topped the million dollar mark with 72 players getting in on the money, and we'll see Kasabyan in the not too distant future when he takes his seat in the National Championships.
