Eric Blair Wins WSOP Circuit Main Event at The Lodge

Eric Blair took away the WSOP Circuit gold ring and first placed prize money of $116,325 when he won the Main Event at The Lodge Casino in Black Hawk Colorado. The 3 day Main Event was an extremely fast paced affair and just the 5 players made it to the final day, and by the end of the first level of that final day it was just the 2 players that remained as Blair took on Nicholas Petitti in heads up play which lasted a further 3 hours. It was all over by 4pm and after the win Blair spoke about the final table and his opponents, saying that, “They all played really well, they were tough. No one was giving it away. It was mentally gruelling.” The win also give Blair a seat in the National Championships which starts on May 22nd and is being held at Bally’s Atlantic City.

Blair entered the final day mid stacked however within just a few minutes he was up there with the chipleader when his pair of Kings took out Corey Zedos’ small pair and from there he rarely looked back. After 3 hours of heads up play it was Blairs A,Q that did the damage against Petitti’s pair of 10’s when a Q dropped on the flop, and it was all over. A total of 330 players entered the Main Event and that created a prize pool just short of half a million dollars with 33 players getting in the money seats, and if you fancy a little live tournament action this summer then keep on reading.
