Vanessa Selbst Wins 3rd WSOP Bracelet

The first major bracelet has been won at this years WSOP and it goes to Vanessa Selbst in the $25,000 buy in mixed max no limit event. This becomes the 3rd WSOP bracelet for the 29 year old New Yorker who also pocketed a cool $871,148 for her troubles. This is Selbt’s 22nd six figure payday and rockets her into the top 25 of the all time money earners list taking her career tournament earnings to over the $10 Million mark. Several other well known players all featured in the money seats, with JC Tran who made last years November Nine coming home in 4th place and Matt Giannetti who made the final table in the Main Event in 2011 grabbing 5th place and a cool $171,461. Selbst beat Jason Mo in heads up play to take the bracelet and she did it from coming way down in chips with Mo holding almost a 2 million chip advantage as they entered heads up. That lead didn't last long and as soon as Selbst had the lead she didn’t look back, storming to the win within an hour of taking the chip lead.

The tournament attracted 131 entrants with 9 players at each table on day 1, that is then cut to 6 players on day 2 and 4 players on day 3 with the final day being heads up play only. Selbst showed her skills at the tables as the play switched around and was a worthy winner of what is a huge buy in event.
