Josh Turner Wins WSOP Circuit Main Event in St Louis

It was St Louis local poker player Josh Turner who took down the WSOP Circuit Main Event St Louis, scooping a first placed prize of $136,945, a Circuit Gold Ring and a seat in the National Championships as he did. This is in fact Turners 2nd Gold Ring, and he's having a sterling season with 11 cashes under his belt, however this was his largest win to date, doubling his previous biggest cash win.

The victory in his hometown seemed to be written in the poker stars, and he led the field from the get go, finishing Day 1 with a stack double the size of his nearest opponent, leading Day 2 at the bell and taking his seat at the final table as chip leader by a country mile. Turner never looked back and not once was he not in control at the final table, and with each player that disappeared, the more it seemed to be the case that the ring and 1st place had his name written all over it.

The final table was a little slow in getting going, however as the pace picked up so did the eliminations and it wasn't long before it was all over. Once finished Turner stated that, "This is awesome, it's hard to even talk. I would need win a WSOP Bracelet to feel I accomplished something bigger than this." His plan is to use the cash to play in bigger tournaments, and one day maybe he'll get his hands on a coveted bracelet, and maybe you could too...
