Party Poker Signs Deal with 76ers and New Jersey Devils
Party Pokerhas made a groundbreaking deal with the New Jersey Devils and the Philadelphia 76ers in what is the first ever sponsorship deal between US pro sports teams and an online gaming company. CEO of both teams Scott O’Neil put pen to paper meaning that Party Poker is now the official online gaming partner of the Sixers and the Devils. Mr O’Neil stated that, “We have this moment in time, that allows a company like ours, which is unique, which frames New Jersey, a pretty incredible opportunity.” Bwin.party CEO Norbert Teufelberger added, “These are two of the most iconic names in American hockey and basketball, with huge and loyal fanbases throughout New Jersey and the surrounding metropolitan areas."
The news looks set to solidify Party Pokers number one spot in the state of New Jersey as they continue to build on the early dominance they acquired as soon as regulated online poker launched in the Garden State. This initial deal also looks set to trigger other similar deals in New Jersey and while just a few months ago polls suggested that residents were somewhat unaware of the state’s regulated online gambling initiatives, that all looks set to change with many companies now beginning to ramp up awareness of their products.
