Allen Kessler Wins WSOP Circuit Foxwoods Main Event
Allen ‘Chainsaw’ Kessler won the Foxwoods WSOP Circuit Main Event, picking up the gold ring and a paycheck of $170,031. This is the third Circuit ring of Kesslers career and the win boosts his overall WSOP earnings to a cool $1.3 Million, however despite winning the 3 day tournament it was the WSOP November Niner Billy Pappas’s appearance that caused the excitement. Pappas will be heading back to Las Vegas in a few months to try and take down the $10 Million WSOP Main Event prize but was here putting in a few hours at the table, getting ready for the big one. He did well enough and made it to day two of the event, going out just before the final break.
It was a great turn out for the Main Event at Foxwoods with 526 players getting in on the action, and they generated a prize pool of over $790,000 with the top 54 players getting in on the cash and 15 of those players making it to the final day. Kessler kept himself in the leading pack all through day two without making a move and it wasn’t until day 3 that the pace picked up considerably and players started dropping out, in fact 4 players busted out within 60 minutes of day 3, with that fast paced poker being kept up until just 4 players were left. The story changed however during heads up play between Kessler and Dube, and that lasted over two hours with Kessler finally coming from behind to take the glory, and of course a seat in the national championships.
