John Eames Wins the Hollywood WSOP Circuit Main Event

English poker player John Eames won his first WSOP Circuit Ring, a cool $289,706 in prize money and the coveted title of WSOP Circuit Main Event Winner when he beat a total of 1,044 players to win the Planet Hollywood event. The huge entry field started in two flights and included plenty of big name players that saw the 2013 WSOP Main Event winner Ryan Riess, the 2001 Main Event winner Carlos Mortensen and the 2014 APAC Champion Scott Davies take to the felt, as well as 4 November Niners and other well known players such as Robert Mizrachi and Eric Baldwin. The stars of the game really did show up for this one in Vegas however it was the Englishman, playing in his first ever WSOP Circuit event that had the last say.

With a star studded field, befitting the surrounds at Planet Hollywood, Eames was almost eliminated first as the final table got underway, however after moving all in he hit a straight on the river and doubled up, slowly building his stack from then on. Throughout the event it looked like Matt Berkey was the man to beat who was chip leader at the end of both days 1 and 2, however he eventually came home in second place. The final table was a little sluggish to get going and it wasn't until the 69th hand that the first player was eliminated, however it picked up after that and was finally done and dusted when Eames knocked out Berkey for the championship. As well as the paycheck, ring and title, Eames also wins his place in the 2105 WSOP National Championships too.
