Having returned to the US online poker scene in November 2013 via the regulation of online poker in New Jersey, Party Poker are first to market with a Mobile Poker solution. They've received much applause for their offering in the Garden State and players may now take their game with them, wherever they go...as long as that’s in New jersey of course. Party Poker mobile is currently available on iOS meaning that all iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users may play on the go and at present the offer is limited to real money cash games, Fast Forward and in play money Texas Hold’em. Stakes ranges are however reasonably high with games available up to a cool $25/$50 real money and $5/$10 in Fast Forward games.
There are no tournaments available on the app at the moment but we would assume that will be in the pipeline. It was Party Poker who took an early lead in New Jersey online poker and they partnered up with the Borgata Hotel, with the 2 rooms sharing liquidity, which in the confined marketplace makes a whole lot of sense, and this has led them to ownership of around 50% of all New Jersey traffic. Reports suggest that as many as 125,000 online gambling accounts have now been opened in the state, which looks good, however what needs to be taken into consideration are those players that have taken advantage of the free cash offers that many casinos delivered, and may not have yet deposited themselves. Only time will tell of course and it’s still very early days in the regulated online poker and casino scene in New Jersey.
