PHil Hellmuth Wins 13th Bracelet

Phil "The Poker Brat" Hellmuth did what he has done so many times in the past and beat off all comers to take the WSOPE main event title, and let's not forget...his 13th WSOP Bracelet. Surely this places him as the best ever Texas Holdem player the world has ever seen. It wasn't a typical Hellmuth style performance and he changed it a little to fantastic effect. He dominated the field and won the heads up against Baranov with an Ace, ten off suit against Baronovs' Ace four off. The four never appeared and Hellmuth walked away with the biggest smile and a very nice 1.02 millions Euros. He started the final table as chip leader and stayed there playing in a very loose aggressive style. Traditionally Hellmuth has been a very tactical conservative player but during this event he loosened up more than just a little, was calling out of position and taking a few risks, that paid off big time. He said that it was the best poker he has ever played, which is not great news for other pros'. He now has his 13th Bracelet and the field are way behind him now and to add to that he is the all time leader in WSOP cashes, standing at an incredible 95. This win also puts him in first place on the 2012 WSOP Player of the Year leader board, finishing second last year, he is looking good to take that award too as only Greg Merson has a chance to topple him now. Hellmuth has now won over $17 million in tournament wins alone, I guess the drinks are on him!
