NBC Heads Up Invitational Players Announced

The popular NBC Invitational event starts this week and players will find out who their first round opponents are soon. There will however be one notable player missing in Daniel Negreanu, who will be giving his reasons soon. Despite one of the most popular faces in poker not attending the show, as they say, must go on. The heads up format of this event makes it extremely popular among poker fans and players alike. Last year saw it take a year out but it's back with a bang this time round and some of the biggest names in the game will be taking place. The program will be recorded from Caesars Palace at the end of January 2013 but won't be aired until March and will be a six week series. Some of the players involved include Doyle Brunson who needs no introduction at all, Antonio Esfandiari who will be looking to make a good start to the year after finishing 2012 strongly and Viktor "Isildur1" Blom who is one of the biggest online players in the world and can be regularly seen on the tables at Full Tilt taking down six figure pots. The heads up format will suit Blom well and many are tipping him for a good run in this event. Phil Hellmuth will be making an appearance too and many wonder whether the temper will remain controlled in front of the cameras or will we get to see The Poker Brat in full effect. There are a few more huge online players in the mix too such as, Daniel "Jungleman12" Cates, Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond. Notable ladies at the NBC show include Jennifer Harman, Vanessa Rousso and another PokerStars pro Liv Boeree. We wish them all good luck and it seems set to make great viewing.
