The WSOP 2015 Dates are Announced

The World Series of Poker 2015 will take place between May 27th and July 14th 2015 and as usual will be held at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. This will be the 46th time the biggest event in the poker world has taken place and there's a brand new tournament being thrown into the mix.

The WSOP 2015 Main Event will run from July 5th to the 14th, with the final table of 9 players returning in November to finish things off, and just like the 2014 event, it will be a $10 Million guaranteed tournament. The new tournament being added to the schedule is a massive event named The Colossus which will have a $5 Million prize pool guarantee and it will take place over the opening weekend of the series. It's hoped that the $565 buy in tourney will attract the largest ever field to a land based poker tournament due to the extremely low buy in, and of course big guaranteed prize pool. Favorite tourneys from last year, The Millionaire Maker and the Monster Stack are also on the schedule as is the Seniors Championship, the Ladies Championship and the Little One for One Drop. The Little One for One Drop will be tweaked a little and will be a $1,000 buy in that will provide 5,000 starting chips, however for another $111 players will get a further 5,000 chips, and of course that cash will go to the One Drop charity. The Big One for One Drop will not take place this year, as was always the plan however the One Drop High Roller will, as the two tournaments will alternate each year.

The WSOP 2014 saw a total of 82,360 players hit the felt, with a massive $227 Million generated in prize money. Players arrived in Vegas from a total of 110 different countries with the Main Event being won by Swedish player Martin Jacobson who beat a field of 6,683 players. The full 2015 WSOP schedule will be released soon and it's expected that over 60 bracelets events will be penned into that mix, and we can't wait for it all to get started.
